At CPG Connect (together with our affiliates and subsidiaries, "CPG", "we", "us", "our" and terms of similar meaning) we respect the privacy and the confidentiality of the personal information provided by or on behalf of potential candidates, our clients, those who assist us in our search by providing references and other pertinent information, and visitors to our website. Such information will only be used for the purpose for which it was collected. Personal information includes any recorded information about an identifiable individual, such as your name, email address, phone number, employment history and educational history.

All personal information you do provide is protected under Canadian privacy laws. This means that, at the point of collection, you will be informed that your personal information is being collected, the purpose for which it is being collected and that you have a right of access to the information.

Personal Information Collection and Consent

Your consent to our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information may be implied or express, through written, oral, electronic or any other method.

In general, the personal information we collect is only obtained if you supply it voluntarily, such as by contacting us via e-mail, agreeing to this privacy policy when you provide personal information to us, or registering in a secure portion of our website. In addition, if you submit your resume to us using this site we may collect additional personal information about you from public sources, including social media websites. If you choose to use our services and/or submit your personal information, then you are providing your consent for our firm to use that personal information to provide you those services and conduct our related business activities.

Our web server may automatically record certain anonymous technical information regarding your visit to our websites such as: the internet domain for your internet service provider, your IP address, the time when you visited the site, and which pages were accessed during your visit. This information is only used to identify server issues and administer our website.

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected, or for sufficient time to allow you access to the information if it was used to make a decision about you, or in the case of general recruitment data, indefinitely. Information that is no longer required by us will be destroyed or de-identified.

Applicants

If you choose to declare yourself an applicant for a job opening or submit materials and information in order to be considered for general opportunities that we are recruiting for we will save your information in our confidential database and may contact you regarding other opportunities in the future. Please advise us in writing if you do not wish us to save your information or do not wish to be contacted.

We understand you may choose to refuse or withdraw consent to the collection, use and release of your personal information for these purposes, and you may notify us of this choice in writing by submitting a request to marketing@cpgconnect.ca and we will record and respect your choices. Please be aware that this may result in our inability to present you to our clients as a candidate for both current and future opportunities.

Clients

If you are a client who has retained the firm to recruit candidates for your organization, we will act in the capacity of an independent contractor during the course of the service we provide and therefore any information or data gathered in the context of the services we deliver will be subject to the conditions outlined in this privacy policy and to the privacy laws to which we as a firm are accountable.

Security

CPG strives to protect your personal information. CPG uses appropriate physical, electronic, administrative and technological precautions in managing personal information. The firm uses secure data networks with appropriate firewalls and password protection. We may provide information to third party service providers who process information on our behalf to help run some of our internal business operations such as email distribution. We also make commercially reasonable effort to ensure the security of your personal information on our system. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that your computer hard drive stores when visiting certain websites. These files are then used by website operators to help identify if you revisit the site. Our firm does collect non-personal information about you and your use of our website through cookies, for the purpose of continuous improvement of our website.

Links

From time to time we include links to other websites for your convenience. Such third party websites may have different privacy policies and practices and we do not endorse nor assume responsibility for these websites.

Email Communications

To provide to you the services offered by the firm you may receive some of the following messages. You may unsubscribe at any time or communicate your preferences regarding certain types of communication.

  1. Emails to confirm receipt of resume submissions
  2. Newsletters containing updates, news and promotions
  3. Targeted emails bringing relevant jobs, information, events and programs to your attention
  4. Recruiting emails from one of our Recruiters for relevant jobs that you may be interested in
  5. Update emails on blog posts that you have commented on

Our Disclosure of Your Information

We will not sell or rent your personally identifiable information to third parties without your explicit consent. The following describes some of the ways that your information may be disclosed in the normal scope of business to provide our services:

Applicants for Job Openings. If you submit your personal information to us as an applicant for a particular job opening, we may provide your personal information to that employer or their agent. If you submit your personal information to us in order to be considered for general opportunities that we are recruiting for, we may provide your personal information to the employers for any such opportunities, or their agents.

Business Partners. We may share such information with other companies that work on our behalf. When we do, it will be under standard industry confidentiality arrangements.

Anonymized Aggregated Data. We aggregate and anonymize data and use and disclose such information for a variety of purposes. However, in these situations, we do not disclose any information that could be used to identify you personally.

Public Areas of the Site. All of your activities in the public areas of the blog will be identifiable to your User ID/ Name, and other people can see your published content.

Subsidiaries and Affiliates; Service Providers. We may from time to time use the services of affiliates, subsidiaries and unrelated service providers in the operation of our firm, and may disclose personal information to them in the course of our use of their services. For example, we may use the services of third-party hosting companies to host the operation of the Site. This may involve the hosting of data, including personal information, on servers operated by those hosting companies. We take care to use only service providers that we believe are reputable and able to live up to our and your expectations, including about the handling of confidential information. For example, CPG Connect currently uses MailChimp to send out and manage our newsletter. Your email address is only used for the proper sending out of the newsletter, and MailChimp will not use this email address for any other purpose and will not transfer or sell your email address to any other third party.

Legal Requests; Emergencies. We cooperate with law enforcement inquiries and demands for information that are made under force of law. We are also cognizant of the need to address emergencies. Therefore, we may provide personal information in what we believe to be emergency situations, and we may provide personal information where required by statute, court order, legal process or lawful authority, and to our legal counsel. In some cases, personal information that we collect may be stored or processed outside of Canada, and may therefore be subject to the legal jurisdiction of those countries.

We may also disclose personal information to the acquiror or its agents in the course of the sale of our business. If we do this, the disclosure will be subject to customary confidentiality agreements.

Other Information Collectors

Except as otherwise expressly included in this Privacy Policy, this document only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. To the extent that you disclose your information to other parties through the Site, different rules may apply to their use, collection and disclosure of the personal information you disclose to them. Since we do not control the information use, collection or disclosure policies of third parties, you are subject to their privacy policies. We encourage you to ask questions before you disclose your personal information to others.

Changes to the Privacy Policy

CPG may decide to change this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of the information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it.

Opt Out

We will send you information about our various products and services, or other products and services we feel may be of interest to you. Only CPG (or agents or contractors working on behalf of CPG and under industry standard confidentiality arrangements) will send you these direct mailings. If you do not want to receive such mailings, simply follow the provided 'opt-out' links in the mailings. Or, at any time you can easily opt out of receiving further marketing from CPG by emailing us at marketing@cpgconnect.ca.
